Are mobile phones or electronic equipment safe in the boats?

Not really, as they may get wet. We suggest you leave them ashore.

 

 

What if I have had no sailing experience?

That’s fine. There are experienced sailors to help you learn, and to feel comfortable in a boat. Many Sailability members start that way.

 

 

I do not swim very well

We all have to wear buoyancy aids all the time, to keep us afloat in the unlikely event of falling into the water. There should always be safety rescue boats close by the dinghies sailing in the river. What’s important is to be able to stay calm. We can also put you in touch with learn to swim sessions.

 

 

Can I afford to join Sailability?

You can come to three taster sessions free. If you want to continue then you will have to join Sussex Yacht Club as a Sailability Member. The fee for Sussex Sailability members for 2010 is £45. This gives you the full rights of an SYC member.
